Tiger Division establishes ‘Youth Empowerment Centre’ in Jammu to empower youths

JAMMU: Indian Army has always been exemplary in its efforts for working to welfare of local population especially youths, the Tiger Division of Indian Army Rising Star Corps facilitated in establishment of a ‘Youth Empowerment Centre’ at Gangyal in Jammu to raise the awareness and facilitate constructive engagement of youth in the society.
PRO Defence Jammu Lt Col DEvender Anand said, “The inauguration ceremony was attended by Brig NR Pandey, Commander Tiger Artillery Brigade, Ms Nuzhat Gull, Secretary J&K Sports Council, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Deputy Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), other civil dignitaries and gathering of locals including youth.”
“The initiative of establishing Youth Empowerment centre was conceptualized in coordination with civil administration through Jammu Municipal Corporation.” Col anand said, “The Youth Empowerment center is designed for the conduct of various Skill Development courses, events, lectures and other youth oriented events for the empowerment of the local youth in Jammu.”
“In addition, the it will be used to conduct de-addiction drives to promote awareness against drug abuse.”
Speaking on the occasion, Brig NR Pandey, Commander, Tiger Artillery Brigade reassured audience and civil dignitaries that the Indian Army always stand shoulder to shoulder in undertaking the development initiatives for the youth of the region.
In his address Baldev Singh Billawaria, Deputy Mayor, JMC expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for this noble initiative and also appreciated the efforts being made by the Indian Army to shape the future of the youth of this country.
He also thanked Tiger Division and Tiger Gunners for being always there for the people and youth of Jammu.
Ms Nuzhat Gull, Secretary J&K Sports Council also appreciated the Indian Army for undertaking multi-faceted initiatives for the people in rural and urban areas. She assured of contribution from J&K Sports Council towards the Youth Empowerment centre, Gangyal.
“This Empowerment Centre will be a valuable addition for the youth in the region making a key difference in shaping their future by providing assistance in result oriented areas, ” Col Anand added.
