Firdous accuses AJK govt of facilitating ‘N’ poll campaign

LAHORE: Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has accused the Azad Jammu and Kashmir caretaker government of facilitating PML-N election campaign.

Speaking at a news conference here at the DGPR offices on Friday, Dr Awan said the government vehicles were still being used for the PML-N’s election campaign in the AJK. She said Maryam Nawaz was also being given protocol in the luxury hotels in the AJK spending public money.

The CM’s aide alleged the AJK prime minister was spending taxpayers’ money on the PML-N’s public meetings. She warned that the AJK premier would be held responsible if any of the PTI workers was hurt.

She said the size of a public meeting did not determine the success of any election candidate and added that the Kashmiris had already tried both PML-N and the PPP. She said the Indian media was highlighting “ badmouthing” by Maryam Nawaz in her party’s public meetings during the AJK election campaign.

She alleged PML-N spokespersons were involved in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s character assassination, and trying to make state institutions controversial.

She also alleged that the “PML-N goons” tragetted Amin Gandapur’s caravan in Azad Kashmir.

She said the prime minister had proved himself a true ambassador of Kashmiris by projecting the Kashmir issue at international forums. Like Gilgit-Baltistant, she said, the PTI would also win the election in AJK.
