A day after a drone was seen along the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor area, four more drones were spotted at different locations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Drones were spotted in the Satwari area, Miran Sahib, near 92 Brigade Headquarters of the Indian Army at Nandpur in Samba district and in Hiranagar area of Kathua district on the intervening night on Thursday and Friday.

The Army fired eight rounds of bullets at the drone that was flying at a height of 200-250 metres over Nandpur village in the Samba district’s Ramgarh police station area.

Another drone was spotted by locals in the Hiranagar area of the Kathua district. They raised an alarm, but the drone disappeared from the spot, sources said.

On Wednesday too, a drone was spotted along the Line of Control (LoC) in Pallanwalla sector in Akhnoor area of Jammu district around 9 pm.

On spotting the drone, Army personnel fired several rounds of bullets at the flying object. The drone then returned to the Pakistani side of the border after hovering over the area for some time.

Drone activity in the Union Territory has heightened in the past few weeks after two blasts rocked Jammu Air Force Station on June 27. Since then, security forces have spotted a number of drones hovering over various military stations across Jammu.
