Indian Army rebuts report of clash with PLA

The Indian Army on Wednesday strongly rebutted a report published in an English daily which claimed that agreements with China in regard to disengagement in Eastern Ladakh have collapsed.

“The article is riddled with inaccuracies and misinformation. It is reiterated that the news report mentioning that agreements with China have collapsed is false and baseless,” the statement issued by the army clarified.

It further elucidated that there has been no clash between the two sides since the disengagement agreement in February. “Both sides have continued with negotiations to resolve the balance issues, and regular patrolling in respective areas continues. The situation on ground continues to be as hithertofore.”

The army statement also called the intent of the reporter ‘malafide’.

The article published in Business Standard is written by Ajai Shukla who even earlier had been accused of peddling fake news many times.
