LAHORE: PML-N Punjab information secretary Azma Bokhari has accused Chief Minister Usman Buzdar of awarding Shahpur Kanjran cattle market contract to his ‘blue-eyed’ contractor.
“Usman Buzdar has committed corruption of millions of rupees by awarding the contract of Shahpur Kanjran market to his favourite contractor. The cattle association has also written to the prime minister for registration of a case in this regard,” Ms Bokhari told reporters outside the Punjab Assembly here on Tuesday.
The PML-N lawmaker alleged that corruption was rampant in Punjab as the government was involved in taking bribes in transfers and postings. She said for the Azad Kashmir polls Rs30 million each had been issued to the PTI candidates from Punjab on the order of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
She further said the Punjab government had awarded the Shahpur Kanjran cattle entry and parking contract for Rs810m. “Similarly Federal Minister Hammad Azhar’s ‘so-called’ coordinator has written to the Wasa directing it to award contracts to his ‘favourite’ contractors. Usman Buzdar does not speak but makes money,” she alleged.
Azma Bokhari said PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz’s election campaign in Azad Kashmir had unnerved the rulers. “The PTI leaders are using foul language against her. Imran Khan has trained his party men to use indecent language against their opponents,” she deplored.
