G Kishan Reddy visits BSF headquarters in Jammu; lauds officers for eliminating threats along Int’l Border

Minister of State (Home) G Kishan Reddy on Friday visited Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters in Jammu and was briefed on the current security situation on the Jammu border. He also interacted with BSF officers and personnel and lauded their capabilities in rising up to challenges on International Border.

N S Jamwal, Inspector General of BSF, Jammu Frontier, gave a detailed presentation to the union minister, explaining the threats and challenges on the Jammu border and the robust border domination plan of BSF to counter these challenges.

G Kishan Reddy was also apprised of the different system and innovation adopted by BSF to neutralize the trans-border threats from the counterpart side.

G KISHAN REDDY ADDRESSES ‘PRAHARI SAMMELAN’

The union minister also addressed a ‘Prahari Sammelan’ in which about 250 BSF officers and personnel were present.

He paid his tribute to BSF martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of the country.

The union minister emphasised that BSF, being the first line of defence, has been doing excellent duties on International Border, especially on Jammu Border.

G Kishan Reddy lauded the capabilities of the BSF personnel who work under harsh and difficult conditions, be it in be it snow bound areas, or hot desert terrain, or difficult area of Rann of Kutch or malaria prone stretches, or Naxal prone areas.

Praising the officers for always standing to the challenges successfully, G Kishan Reddy said that BSF has been successful in eliminating the threats from counterparts, be it infiltration, tunneling, smuggling, or drones.

Moreover, G Kishan Reddy said that it is a matter of pride for him to see the Mahila Praharies sitting amongst Jawans and rendering their services on border with equal zeal and enthusiasm.

Appreciating the recent success of Jammu FTR, wherein BSF troops successfully eliminated intruders from across the border and confiscated large quantities of narcotics and detected underground tunnels on Jammu border, the minister complimented the BSF for shooting down a Hexacopter that was coming from across the border, carrying arms and ammunition at Samba border.

G Kishan Reddy praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their efforts due to which BSF has been provided with modern weaponry and state-of-the-art technology to effectively guard the International borders of the country against the new threats.

Additionally, he also pointed out that the prime minister and the home minister have been working continuously to provide all possible assistance to BSF personnel. Various welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Skilled Development have been started under the guidance of PM Modi in this regard.

G Kishan Reddy wished BSF a great success in all its future endeavors and reposed huge faith in its capabilities.
