ISLAMABAD: A decline in the number of Covid-19 cases was seen in Islamabad and Rawalpindi district on Tuesday with 23 people testing positive in the former and 11 in the latter.
The positivity ratio was 1.1pc whereas 39 people recovered from the disease in the capital. No virus-related casualties were reported in the last three days.
Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours 1,989 tests were conducted in the capital, which found the virus in 17 men and six women.
Eight cases were reported in the age group of 30-39, followed by four each in 20-29, and 50-59, two each in 10-19, and 40-49, and one each in 0-9, 60-69 and 80 and above, they said, adding that three cases each were reported from Lohi Bher, Bhara Kahu and I-10, two cases each from F-11 and G-13 and one case each from Tarlai, I-8, G-9, Khanna, G-8, E-11 and Bari Imam.
Addresses of three cases are not known, the officials said, adding there are 918 active active cases in the capital currently including 41 admitted in hospitals.
Furthermore, in Rawalpindi district, 19 patients were discharged from the hospital after recovery during the last 24 hours.
Currently, there are 140 active patients in the district and 35 are in hospitals including five from other districts. As many as 115 patients are home isolated.
Seven patients are from the garrison city including four from cantonment, one from Potohar Town and two from Rawal Town. One patient each arrived from Gujar Khan and Taxila, and one patient each came from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the District Health Authority, 698,072 people in the district have so far been vaccinated including 666,898 residents of the district while 31,174 front line health workers have been inoculated.
