In Ladakh, with the help of CBSE, the exercise of creating a separate school education board has started. CBSE team has reached Ladakh tour. After meeting with various people, it has been discussed to give a separate school education board-like system to Ladakh for a few years immediately.
Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur had recently discussed with CBSE Chairman Manoj Ahuja about the arrangement of a separate education board for Ladakh. After this conversation, the CBSE team visited Kargil district and held a meeting. Several issues were raised before the team.
It was told that even after the implementation of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, the schools in Ladakh are running under the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education. In such a situation, many problems are being faced. Firoz Ahmed Khan, President, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil said that CBSE should help in making arrangements keeping in mind the geographical conditions of Ladakh and the challenges of the education sector.
schools will have to provide other facilities including relaxation in norms related to CBSE recognition. CBSE Secretaries Sanjib Das, Hilal Ahmed and Shyam Kapoor, who were included in the CBSE team, said that the system would be prepared according to the students of Ladakh.
