ISLAMABAD: Reigning champions Wapda, Army, Pakistan Air Force, Punjab, Sindh and Islamabad after winning their respective matches reached the men’s quarter-finals of the National Netball Championship here at the Pakistan Sports Complex on Monday.
Islamabad, Army, Gilgit-Baltistan, Wapda, Sindh, and Punjab also qualified for the women’s last-eight stage.
There was no upset result in the championship on Monday as all main contenders won their matches easily.
In the men’s event, Navy beat Balochistan 30-21, Wapda outgunned Sindh 42-10, Army crushed Islamabad 41-8, Punjab outplayed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 93-3 and SA Garden Academy overpowered Pakistan Police 29-21.
In the women’s competition, Sindh beat Gilgit-Baltistan 24-22, Islamabad overwhelmed Azad Kashmir 32-20, PAF beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 42-8, Navy defeated SA Garden 24-22, Police downed Balochistan 36-21, Army defeated Inter Board 42-4 and Gilgit-Balitsan defeated Azad Kashmir 19-8.
