23 more Covid patients die in Pakistan

KARACHI: As many as 23 more patients died of coronavirus in Pakistan during the last 24 hours while 901 new virus cases emerged. The country-wide death toll from the virus has surged to 22,211 so far since the outbreak of the disease in February 2020.

According to a Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation, and Coordination report issued on Friday, a total of 954,743 people have been tested positive for the coronavirus disease in the country since its outbreak in February 2020, out of which 335,555 cases were in Sindh, 345,796 in Punjab, 27,003 in Balochistan, 137,628 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 82,565 in Islamabad, 5,984 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 20,212 in Azad Kashmir. However, 900,291 patients have recovered from the disease so far.

Meanwhile, Coronavirus claimed eight more lives while 141 new cases were reported in Punjab during the last 24 hours.

According to the data shared by the spokesperson for the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), the total number of coronavirus cases reached 345,792 while death toll 10,721 and recoveries 326,231 in the province. As per the data provided by the P&SHD, currently 8,844 patients are under treatment in different hospitals.
