Union Ministers joins celebrations

“Relevance of Yoga has increased during COVID. Yoga has helped us to maintain our physical & mental health. We should make Yoga or other physical activities a part of our daily life. These will help us to increase our immunity against coronavirus,” says Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan.

International Yoga Day is Prime Minister Modi’s brainchild. In 2014, PM Modi proposed the idea after he first assumed charge as the prime minister.

The celebrations for this year’s Yoga Day have been scaled down due to the Covid-19 with several states still under a lockdown and large social gathering not allowed.
