A team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) came under a grenade attack from militants in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening. The attack took place at Tral in Pulwama district.
Police said no loss of life or injury has been reported so far in the attack.
The attack took place around 6.20 pm. A police officer said the militants hurled a grenade upon a CRPF party at Tral town in Pulwama, causing an explosion.
Earlier in this month, three militants were killed while one surrendered during an encounter with security forces in Shopian district on May 6.
Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Kanigam area following a tip-off about presence of militants there.
Police said the four militants had been recently inducted in Al-Badr. They were persuaded to surrender, but they turned down the offer and opened fire and lobbed a grenade at the security forces.
Three of them were killed in the encounter and one surrendered.
